Privacy

Short version: there is no account and nothing here asks who you are. We count visits with Google Analytics, and advertising helps pay for the site. If you are in the UK or Europe, nothing is stored on your device for either until you say yes, and saying no changes nothing about how the site works.

What we collect

Nothing you type in, and nothing that names you. There is no sign-up, no newsletter, no comment form and no contact form. We never ask for your name or your email address.

Optional EVE sign-in. Some tools, starting with station trading, let you sign in with your EVE Online account so they can use your own character. It is optional, and each tool says exactly what it reads before you sign in. Station trading reads your skills, wallet balance and wallet history, market orders and their history, and standings, and can open a market window or set a destination in your EVE client when you click a button that says so. Your hangar (assets) and location are a separate step you only get asked for if you choose that feature. Nothing is ever changed in your account: the tool cannot buy, sell, move or modify anything. The sign-in happens on EVE's own site, so we never see your EVE password. Everything after that runs in your browser: your character's data goes straight from EVE's servers to you and never reaches our server, so we cannot store it, see it or share it. Your sign-in is kept in that browser tab only and is gone when you close the tab or press Sign out. You can also revoke access at any time from the third-party applications page of your EVE account.

The Finder, the calculators and the filters run entirely in your browser. The one exception is the site search box: if you have accepted analytics, the words you search for are counted, so we can see what people look for and fail to find. They are never linked to who you are.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, which tools are used, roughly where visitors are (country or region), what device and browser they use, and which site sent them. We see totals, not individuals. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell a returning visitor from a new one, and only after you consent if you are in the UK or Europe. Without consent it sends anonymous, cookieless signals that cannot tell visitors apart. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics.

Server logs. Like every web server, ours keeps a standard access log (IP address, page requested, time, browser type) for security and to count traffic. The logs are rotated and deleted automatically after 14 days and are never shared.

Advertising

Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. They appear on the guides, fits, methodology, research and Atlas site pages, which carry our own writing, and never on the tools or the system lookup pages.

Cookies and your choice

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google's analytics and advertising cookies are only set once you agree, if you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland. We use Google's consent message to ask, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time from Privacy and cookie settings, which is also in the footer of every page. If you decline, the site works exactly the same, with non-personalised ads.

Third parties a page talks to

This is a static site, but some pages load things from other people's servers. Those servers see your IP address, as any server does when your browser asks it for a file.

The wordmark typeface is served from this site, not from Google Fonts.

Your rights

UK GDPR gives you rights over personal data held about you. We hold no personal data beyond the 14-day server logs; analytics and advertising data is held by Google, and you can manage it through your Google account or the settings link above.
