Drifter Hives (Unidentified Wormholes)

Class 14–18 Β· fleet onlyWormhole SpaceDrifter / Sleeper

The five Drifter hive systems β€” Barbican (J110145), Conflux (J200727), Redoubt (J174618), Sentinel (J055520), Vidette (J164710), classes 14–18 β€” each hold one huge staged complex ending at a ~200 km rotating Drifter station, the Hive. CANNOT be completed solo: the complex splits into two parallel tracks whose data-centre hacks unlock each other, so you need combat AND hacking on both tracks (community ops ran 10–15 pilots). Structure: Beacon (entry gate) β†’ the Split β†’ parallel hacked/gated rooms β†’ Antechamber (tracks rejoin, long burn to the last gate) β†’ the Hive, guarded by Hikanta Tyrannos. Every room past the entrance has a spatial rift back to the start. Roaming Drifter battleship sentries rotate rooms roughly every half hour β€” a cloak is close to essential. THE 2015 PLAYBOOK IS HISTORY. In April-May 2025 the empires assaulted and captured the five hives during Capsuleer Day XXII ("Nexus Reckoning"); the systems were renamed β€” Liberated Barbican (Minmatar; a Republic Base now trades inside it), Sanctified Vidette, Azdaja Redoubt, Sentinel MZ and Conflux Eyrie β€” with 15-ship event filaments to each. The classic Hikanta-index-vault loop was already superseded: the "unsolved" Elements got a purpose around 2023 (Coalesced Element crafting via LP stores), payouts were capital-gated in 2024 then buffed ~500% in the 2025 event patch, and the 2015 "not soloable" rule was contradicted by documented solo/duo farmers even in its own era. The structure detail below is the pre-capture layout β€” read it as the site's archaeology, not its present.

Drifter battleship combat doctrine (community-tested, 2015-era)

  • Superweapon fires when its first (blue) shield layer drops β€” ~230k damage on an unhardened capital; it will hold the shot while jammed and fire when it can. Sacrifice or mitigate; nothing reasonably tanks it.
  • Normal fire ~5k volleys every ~5s; orbits ~17 km at ~2,208 m/s β€” drones need nav computers to keep up.
  • EWAR carried: warp scrambler, web, medium-strength neuting. It has a finite cap pool and CAN be neuted dry β€” doing so changed nothing observable.
  • Aggro is persistent: it follows across the grid and re-engages on return without provocation.
  • Attack priority observed: logistics β†’ damage dealers β†’ drones β†’ EWAR.
  • ECM worked in the 2015 engagements (first community kill: 'a lot of ECM, then shoot'). Entosis links do nothing anywhere in Drifter sites β€” 15 attempts, nothing hackable that way.
  • Apollo and Artemis Tyrannos fly the roaming battleships; Hikanta Tyrannos guards the Vault.

The capture era (community corpus, 2025-2026, support-counted)

  • Nexus Reckoning (Capsuleer Day XXII, Apr-May 2025): empires assaulted the hives; week-2 analysis counted 30.6B+ destroyed in Liberated Barbican alone.
  • New names, verified across independent 2025 and 2026 records: Liberated Barbican Β· Sanctified Vidette Β· Azdaja Redoubt Β· Sentinel MZ Β· Conflux Eyrie.
  • Liberated Barbican hosts a Minmatar Republic Base with its own tradables (Eleutrium exchange documented Apr 2025).
  • Elements mystery solved (~2023): individual hive Elements + Containment Vessels (Sleeper relic sites) + Control Data (Sleeper data sites) craft Coalesced Elements, used via LP stores.
  • 2024: Drifter Response Battleship (~300M drop) gated behind having a capital on-grid β€” squeezed small groups; 2025 event patch then buffed payouts ~500% and made the Labyrinth count for influence.
  • Practitioner note (2025-04): outside Redoubt β€” popular because cheap small ships work β€” the sites often sit empty.

Payout B Community-corroborated

The endgame: kill Hikanta (it fires its doomsday once its primary shield matrix drops β€” budget a sacrificial ship), then feed the Vault that hive's own Index. Indexes drop from the Hikanta of a DIFFERENT hive (Barbican's Hikanta drops a Conflux Index), forcing a tour. The Vault yields ten hive-specific Elements β€” whose purpose, a decade on, has never been discovered (the community's standing theory: a combined key to an unreleased sixth home system; IKAME held all five types with no result). Do not confuse hive Elements with Antikythera Elements (Circadian Seeker drops, consumed 1-per-unit in Entosis Link I manufacture).

Escalations

No escalations currently mapped. That is a statement about the Atlas, not the site. Mapping escalation chains is ongoing original research.
