Down the Chain

Superior Sleeper Cache

The top sleeper cache and one of the richest solo PvE payouts in known space — and the most likely to destroy the ship of anyone who hasn't studied it. Level V scanning difficulty means most explorers never even see one on scan. Scanning it down needs ~104-107 probe strength (era-dependent; support=6 across 2015-2026) AND a tightened custom probe formation at 0.25 AU — most explorers never see one. It is effectively static: roughly one live spawn per region, k-space only (the only wormhole exception reported is Sansha shattered systems).

Where is the Superior Sleeper Cache in EVE Online?

The Superior Sleeper Cache spawns in high-sec, low-sec and null-sec. How you find it: cosmic signature (data scanning), Level V difficulty — the hardest scan in k-space.

Room-by-room (community corpus, support-counted)

  • Structure: spatial rifts link the rooms — Solray (gas cloud on a timer, aligned via the Solray Alignment Disc), Sentry/Turret room (plasma chambers), Mine room, and the hidden Archive room holding the biggest value (support=6, 2016-2023).
  • PLASMA CHAMBERS = the deadliest object in exploration: ~100k explosive AoE over a ~250 km radius — deletes triple-plated battleships; MWD use near them is a reported trigger (support=5).
  • Turret room: hack the Remote Defense Grid Unit from range, then the Sentry Repair Station FAST — it flips one sentry to your side and it must survive the 1v5 (support=3). Aggro is reported buggy: turrets sometimes fire instantly on warp-in.
  • A pre-existing acceleration gate on warp-in is a red flag — the last pilot likely tripped the insta-kill defences; don't take it.
  • Mine room: proximity-AND-speed-triggered smartbomb mines — stay under ~100 m/s; players report deaths AFTER successfully hacking the defence unit, so keep cruiser-grade buffer regardless (support=4).
  • Archive room: escalating shockwave AoE — attested requirement ~2,000+ EHP/s active tank with a 60-70k buffer; the standard answers are a T3 cruiser or a ~3B-ISK Nestor (support=6). Hackable Vessel Rejuvenation Batteries in-room grant enough regen to pin shields at 100% if timed (support=2).
  • Whether an Astero can 100% the site is DISPUTED (one 2025 yes-with-caveats vs a flat 2018 no); the Nestor's fitness is likewise argued both ways — the uncontested floor is Stratios/T3C for a full clear.
  • Sites can despawn mid-run if you linger between pockets (2 reports, newest 2024) — and the site's own hazards kill without CONCORD, so rivals can and do detonate chambers onto you.

Payout B Community-corroborated

The best-attested payout in exploration: ~100-500M ISK per run (9 independent reports, 2017-2026; '300-350M guaranteed + BPC value' is the median claim), with storyline/polarized BPCs — one 2024 report values a single 'Thurifer' Large Cap Battery BPC at ~400M over three runs. Dissent exists: it spawns ~one per region, and full clears need a multi-hundred-million fit, so ISK-per-effort is argued both ways.
