Null security space is 0.0 and below — no police, no gate guns, no penalty of any kind for attacking anyone. Most of it is claimed and defended by player alliances (sovereignty). This is where the top anomaly tiers (Havens, Sanctums) and the hardest DED complexes spawn; the practical threat is roaming player gangs and cloaked hunters, not the NPCs.
